I have been pretty terrible this year at putting anything out here on my blog. I did have to transfer all my posts over from my old platform and that took some time and since I wasn’t super excited about it all, my procrastination took over and I finally got it all moved over this month. WHEW!
Now that I have that done, I can do a little catch up on the past year.
I started the year with another pattern that you can read about here. I really enjoyed that one a lot and started working on another one after… but then life got hectic and everything quilty got put on the back burner.
I did get quilts made for the pattern, but I am still working on writing the pattern and so they are just in limbo for the time being.

I wasn’t really feeling like sewing much over the summer. It is hard to want to stay in and sew when there is so much else to do when it is nice out. So instead of forcing myself to stay in, I took a break. I planted some plants and enjoyed the peaceful summer.

The longer I stayed away though, the easier it was to avoid… So, when I saw that some Instagram friends were doing the Tula Pink City Sampler again, I thought that would be just the thing to get me back into the swing of it all again!
I have made this quilt a couple times before. I love that each block is a little bit different and that I just had to focus on one a day. 100 days is a lot of days, but just one block a day makes it manageable. Here are a few of my favorite blocks.

I also took a quilt collage class in October and made this fun wall hanging for Halloween. It was my first quilting class ever and I had so much fun, I will definitely take another class when one comes up that interests me.

I made a new tree skirt for my Christmas tree this year. I had been wanting to make one for several years now, but each year when it gets to be that time, I would put it off until ‘next year’… and finally it was ‘next year’ this year!

And finally, I put together some quilty pillows that the hubby bought me for my birthday this year… way back in March.

So even though I didn’t crank out a ton of quilts this year, I still got a lot done in spite of my extended summer break. It gave me some time to reflect on my plans going forward and really focus on what I enjoy about sewing. Hoping that I can finally finish writing that pattern in 2023 though! Fingers crossed!
